The Cinque table CD/radio from Tangent, rather logically the fifth model in the firm's range, added CD playback, via a slot-loading mechanism. The Danish company's model had a top-mounted 7.5cm speaker in a bass-reflex enclosure made of solid wood, a 3.5mm stereo input for an iPod or MP3 player, and 3.5mm headphone and line-out sockets.

In addition, the CD player will handle MP3 and WMA files on CD-R/CD-RW discs. It comes with a pristine User Manual. The high-quality single speaker, bass-reflex construction and wooden cabinet, deliver a well-rounded sonic performance rivalling much larger systems.

The handy size makes the Cinque perfect for placement in any room in the house. The good news is that it is in good working order; the sound quality is simply excellent. The bad news is that it is missing the remote control.

What on earth did we do before remote controls? Oh yes, I remember, we got up off our backsides and changed it manually! Band DAB band III / L band / FM.
